Fairy Trees Winery was founded in 2020 by the Laclie Family, whose roots trace back five generations to esteemed Cognac distillers in France.
The name Fairy Trees symbolizes a connection to Irish history while also honoring the deep heritage of the Laclie family tree. In Ireland, the legend of the Fairy Trees is timeless, and the Laclie family’s lineage dates back to the 1700s. For us, blending the magic of Ireland’s mythical stories with our family’s French-Irish heritage is both meaningful and significant.

Our Master Winemaker, or Vigneron, is Bertrand Laclie.
Bertrand comes from a long lineage of distillers, brewers, and winemakers in the Cognac region of France. His passion for Ireland began in the late 90’s when he studied here and fell in love with the country’s charm and beauty.
Together with his wife Jennifer and their two sons, Bertrand made the bold decision to bring his expertise to Ireland, turning a dream into reality. Alongside their dedicated team, the Laclie family has succeeded in growing and crafting exceptional wines on Irish soil.
Nestled on the banks of the River Dee along Ireland’s picturesque East Coast in Co. Louth, Fairy Trees Vineyard spans 20 acres of carefully cultivated land. Our first field is called “Willistown” and our second one is called “The Burren”.
Our wines are 100% hand-harvested, with countless hours of dedication, care, and craftsmanship poured into every bottle. Driven by passion and perseverance, our mission is clear: to put Irish wine firmly on the global map and inspire other winemakers to embrace the potential of Ireland’s temperate climate – a climate we believe is perfectly suited for growing exceptional grapes.

Our wines are crafted and produced at our winery in Ireland, guided by a world-class winemaking team with deep expertise in still and cool-climate styles.
As we continue to develop and expand our vineyards, we work with carefully selected fruit that meets our exacting standards. This approach allows us to define a distinctive house style — elegant wines shaped by freshness, balance, and precision.
Our portfolio includes Irish Aged Wines, matured in Irish whiskey casks — a distinctive meeting of two great Irish traditions.
We also produce Irish Sparkling Brut and Rosé, crafted using the Charmat method at our vineyard to preserve vibrant fruit, finesse, and a refined, modern character.
Our Signature Series — DEARG and BÁN — represents the purest expression of our winemaking philosophy, defined by structure, clarity, and varietal character.
The Discovery Series reflects our commitment to innovation, featuring wines from experimental plantings and progressive techniques as we continue to explore and define the potential of Irish wine.
